We've been coming to A Pedir de Boca for the past 5 months. After trying a lot of other restaurants, it is simply the best restaurant in Cuenca, the only one we make a point of visiting every week. The food quality is consistently great. Chef Felipe buys his produce fresh at the mercado every day - we've often seen him arriving from the market in the morning, with bags full of the great fresh vegetables we get here in Cuenca. To a core of simple ingredients, Felipe adds from the best spice larder in town, and his genius for flavors produces food which is a delight to eat. Things which look quite ordinary on the menu turn out to be anything but ordinary. I've been surprised by everything I've ordered. Felipe learned his skills as a chef in Europe, and he brings back to Cuenca a repertoire no other restaurant can match.
If A Pedir de Boca had nothing to offer except Felipe's food, it would still be a great restaurant. But there is so much more. Felipe welcomes his guests with warm hospitality. Regular customers are greeted like family, and new customers quickly become regulars. Felipe's staff come from the same mold, and it's easy to believe he chooses them for their warmth and charm.
Lastly, it's hard to believe anyone can put out such amazing, delicious food for the prices at A Pedir a Boca.
If you live in Cuenca and haven't tried it, you're missing out. If you're coming to visit Cuenca, give it a try. I promise you won't be disappointed.
When we first arrived in Cuenca, my son discovered this restaurant. We started going soon afterwards. It's a little sized but outright gem. The ingredients are fresh and first class, from the veggies to the shrimp. Nice to find a place that serves rice vermicelli along with other options. Having lived an eaten in some of the finer locales in the USA, I could say that Felipe's place (and his ingredients and cooking) are fresh, beautifully presented, and mouth watering. Equal to his cooking, the owner-chef is beyond a high quality guy. I have been so impressed and warmed by Felipe's generous nature and good spirit. He offers weekly Spanish conversation get togethers/classes to all comers. Get yourself over to this place for Thai food and more.
Lugar muy agradable, proporción de la comida es muy buena y justa por lo que se paga, sabor muy bueno. Por ser tan bueno el sabor y debido al espacio el lugar pasa con bastante demanda, de la misma manera se puede comentar que la decoración del lugar es bastante interesante/diferente/agradable.

Excelente atención. Me ofrecieron alternativas sin harina y sin azúcar. La comida increíble. Uno de los mejores bowls de noodles y mariscos que comi en mi vida. El lugar tiene una entrada muy pequeña pero tiene varias mesas adentro. Una pequeña joya en Cuenca. Platos principales de 8 a 10 dólares.
Excelente comida y muy buena atención! Hay opciones para alérgicos al gluten. Definitivamente regresaré!
El ambiente del lugar es muy ameno y te hace sentir que no estás dentro de la ciudad ya que es llenó de naturaleza y muy confortable con la música, pedimos un sándwich de pollo que estaba muy rico ya que tenía varios tipos de vegetales. También comimos un postre que se llama "la torta de chocolate más rica del mundo" que la verdad no hace honor al nombre, sin embargo los jugos también fueron deliciosos y sobretodo naturales. La atención es buena ya que siempre estuvieron atentos y nos brindaron una entrada y un digestivo al final. Es muy recomendable el lugar.
Un lugar pequeño pero agradable, buena comida con precios económicos, pidan los noodles thai.
Cada vez que vengo quedo totalmente satisfecho, pero ésta vez más! Tal vez peque los platos son muy bien puestos (no reduzcan las porciones!) nunca se me ocurrió pedir un postre, hoy nos trajeron 3 postres y cada uno estaba mejor que otro, la torta de chocolate fue algo exquisito.
Un lugar muy bonito, acogedor y pintoresco. La comida es deliciosa, son unas porciones generosas, los jugos naturales son perfectos; el personal muy amable y pendiente de tus necesidades - y todo por un módico precio. Volvería a ojos cerrados a este lugar. Un must de la comida en Cuenca!

Una agradable sorpresa,lugar delicioso lleno de detalles,planta,cuadros, ambiente cálido y informal, comida vegetariana, Thai, italiana, rica y bien presentada. El Dueño muy amable sale a conversar con los cliente, experiencia para repetir.
